13-year-old attacked by men with metal bat
As the Burgess family mourns the loss of a loved one, another Belize City family is keeping a bedside vigil at the K.H.M.H. after their teenaged son was also hit in the head with a bat. According to police, thirteen-year-old Jose Ayala was standing at the corner of Freedom Street and Unity Boulevard when three men approached him and asked for his brother Miguel. It is not certain what he told the men, but one of them took a metal bat he was carrying and hit the boy to the back of the head.
