Top Crime Investigator Leads Foster’s Murder Investigation
One more issue on crime…a top crime investigator has been assigned to the murder of seventy-four-year-old Richard Foster. Inspector Aban is leading the investigative team with the hopes to make a significant arrest by this weekend and crack the case. The British filmmaker was kidnapped from his home at Savanna Guest House sometime Monday night and Tuesday morning. His body was found dumped near a creek in the Rivera Area of Belmopan, twenty-four hours after he was reported missing. The well-known conservationist had been fatally stabbed. The post-mortem revealed that Foster had been stabbed ten times. His nine-millimeter handgun and twelve-gauge shotgun had been stolen from his home. Foster’s Toyota pickup truck was found abandoned in the Mahogany Heights Community. This afternoon Deputy Commissioner of Police Chester Williams provided an update.
Chester Williams, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations)
“The foster investigation is being headed by Inspector Aban who is from Belize City, CIB support. He was appointed the chief investigator, as he is a senior investigator. Due to the nature of how the incident occurred, we saw it fit to appoint a senior investigator to investigate that matter. And, yes, we have made some progress in that investigation and we are hoping that, hopefully, over the weekend we should be able to effect an arrest in respect of Foster’s murder.”
The motive for Foster’s murder was robbery.
