Robbers Nabbed Minutes after Gas Station Hold Up

The spate of armed robberies continued this afternoon in the city when two men held up two gas pump attendants at PUMA Gas Station on the Philip Goldson Highway. Security footage shows the duo, one armed with a handgun, approaching the unsuspecting attendants and robbing them of an undisclosed amount of cash. This latest, brazen, armed robbery occurred at around one-thirty when the thieves pulled up to the gas station as though they were paying customers. But unknown to the employees, the men were there on a criminal mission. It took the thieves a few seconds to execute the crime, but their luck ran out a few minutes later when their getaway vehicle was intercepted on Chetumal Street.

“Police quick response to that matter led to the apprehension of the suspects, the vehicle used and the recovery of a nine millimeter pistol that was used in connection with that robbery.”

“At this time the police are still trying to ascertain if anything was stolen from the gas station.”
