A Female Referee is Viciously Attacked On-field by a Football Player

A female referee was physically assaulted by a football player on Sunday evening in the Corozal District where she was officiating a match between San Antonio and Concepcion Village.  According to thirty-one-year-old Yuri Daniels, she was viciously punched in the mouth after issuing a red card to Darnel Mossiah for unsportsmanlike behavior towards other players.  The violent attack on Daniels has prompted the Football Federation of Belize to issue a statement condemning this despicable act.  The FFB is also in full support of the referee and will assist in providing guidance for legal action to be taken against Mossiah.
