Brandon Cattouse Is Ready to Ride Again

Popular Belizean athlete Brandon Cattouse, an elite rider, is free to participate in all sanctioned events hosted by the Belize Cycling Federation after his suspension was lifted on Friday.  The decision to clear Cattouse of doping allegations succeeded an investigation conducted by Dr. Alberto Bravo, an arbitrator assigned to the Anti Doping Tribunal of the Regional Anti Doping Organization of Central America.  Cattouse was suspended after a urine sample taken from him following this year’s Valentine’s Classic returned positive for a prohibited substance classified as a performance-enhancing drug.  Bravo’s decision was handed on Friday and this afternoon, in the presence of his family and attorney, Cattouse shared his sentiments on the outcome.

“I just glad fu deh back and ah could ride again, you know, ah feel da weight lifted affa mi from di suspension, you know, cause I mih wahn miss all ah di previous race weh dehn mi have and Road Champion di come up on Sunday.  So ah could ride back and a very happy that everything get back to normal and we woulda wahn dat dis noh happen again, noh, like to somebody else or wahn next cyclist or wahn other athlete eena wahn next sport or something like that.  With the suspension I mi very disappointed and ah miss lotta training but ah think ah still wahn do the race as a workout, to help the team.”
