Cotton Tree Villager Fatally Stabbed in Belmopan

There were two murders in Belmopan on Saturday night. Both victims were stabbed to the neck and later succumbed at the Western Regional Hospital. The first fatal stabbing happened on Rose Garden Street at around seven o’clock. The victim is thirty-two year old Ronnie Daly. He was with some friends when he was approached by someone who knew him. A brief argument led to the person pulling out a sharp object and stabbing Daly on the right side of the neck. The life of thirty-two-year-old Ronnie Daly was taken on the night of Saturday, August eleventh.  The Cotton Tree Villager was in Belmopan with a group of friends when he was attacked by someone who knew him.  It happened at around seven o’clock while Daly was socializing on Rose Garden Street. He was stabbed once to the right side of the neck.

“Initial investigation revealed that the decreased was in the company of two other persons traveling on Rose Garden Street in Belmopan when he alighted the vehicle he was travelling in where had a discussion with a male person who later inflected the said injuries to him. In this regard the police is also looking for a named suspect in relation to this investigation.”

“Could you say if that suspect was from the vehicle or was he someone…?

“No he was not in the vehicle.”

Daly was rushed to the Western Regional Hospital, but died while receiving treatment. The suspect fled the scene. Police have yet to determine the nature of the argument between Daly and his killer.

“From our investigation the victim was called by the suspect and that caused him to alight the vehicle where the discussion was held.”

“Are you able to say what is the connection between the victim and this main suspect? Are they friends? That was a suggestion.

“We do not know at this point in time but we know that from out investigation the victim was called by the suspect that caused him to alight the vehicle where the discussion was held.”

“Has police been able to determine the nature of this discussion? Was it a disagreement, hard talk?

“I do not want to speculate however, as I had mentioned previously the deceased was called by this person by his name.”
