Allen James slapped with ten year sentence for burlgary
Justice Adolph Lucas handed down a sentence of ten years to Allen James today for the robbery of the Sen Sen Store on Daly Street. Last week, we reported that the twenty eight year old man beat a charge of attempted murder but was found guilty of robbery. During the trial James brought to court five character witnesses including Shawn Young, Javier Heredia, Melissa Almandarez, Kenneth “Cap” Hoare and Alfred James. He himself told the court he was sorry for what he had done and undertook not repeat to his mistake. James pleaded for a fine or a suspended sentence because he did not want to serve time, but nonetheless the judge imposed the ten year sentence. The incident goes back to June 21, 2007 when James and another man stole one thousand dollars from the Sen Sen Store on Daly Street by disarming a security guard. An exchange of gunfire ensued between them and another security guard, Clifford Grey, while they were fleeing the store. Crown Counsel Trienia Young represented the prosecution at the sentencing.
