Bullet Tree Resident Perishes 5 Days after Motorcycle Collision with Parked Vehicle

Yuri Moralez

A third person perished on Friday after a traffic accident which occurred over a week ago. Yuri Moralez was riding his motorcycle when he crashed into a parked vehicle on Joseph Andrews Drive in San Ignacio.  The impact sent the twenty-three-year-old to the pavement; he received severe head and body injuries which led to his death on Friday. The parked vehicle is the property of Edgar Garcia. ACP Joseph Myvett explains why Garcia faces no charges.

“On Sunday, the twelfth of August, sometime around six-thirty p.m., San Ignacio police responded to a traffic accident on Joseph Andrews Drive where one Edgar Garcia reported to them that while he had his vehicle parked on the said Joseph Andrews Drive and his vehicle was south bound, a motorcycle collided into the back of his vehicle while it was parked there and the driver was flung from the motorcycle. The driver’s name was later learnt to be one Yuri Moralez, twenty—three-year-old labourer of Bullet Tree Village. The motorcycle rider was taken to the San Ignacio Hospital in an unconscious state and thereafter transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he passed away on the seventeenth of august.”

“So no charges have been brought?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“No because the vehicle was parked on the side of the road.”
