Missing U.S. fisherman may have drifted into Belizean waters
The family of a US citizen who left Honduras on Sunday is asking for help in locating him as they believe he may have drifted to Belize.
New Jersey resident, Joe Dunsavage, left Roatan on Sunday and has not yet been heard from. Air and sea searches have not yielded any clues of his whereabouts. His relatives believe he could have drifted near La Ceiba, but they are asking people to help in the search as far north as Glover’s Reef, especially the uninhabited beaches in southern Belize.
Dunsavage left Roatan onboard a nine by five white catamaran with a blue top to fish two hundred yards from the beach. His family believes he experienced engine trouble and to drifted towards the Belize-Honduras coastline.
