Hit and run victim remains critical
Nineteen-year-old Andrew Tzib is lucky to be alive following a traffic accident that left him in a coma. Around 9:30 on Monday night, Tzib, a resident of Ladyville, was walking near mile two and a half on the Northern Highway when he was knocked down by a passing vehicle. According to police, after the young man was hit, the driver did not stop. It is not certain who called for help, but police say when they arrived on the scene Tzib was already lying in an ambulance, comatose and bleeding from the nose. This morning, shortly after 10:00, hospital authorities told News 5 that Tzib regained consciousness but that he remains in critical condition at the K.H.M.H. In the meantime, police say they do not have a description of the hit and run vehicle and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crime to please contact the nearest police station.
