Belizean Licensed Vehicle Involved in Accident in Mexico

A Belizean woman was among four persons injured in a traffic accident near Playa del Carmen. According to reports from the area, she was travelling in a van that was involved in a collision with another vehicle bearing Mexican license plates. It happened on Sunday night at the entrance of Nohbec, where the offending Mexican vehicle drove past a stop sign and collided into the van from Belize causing extensive damages.  Three persons travelling in the Mexican vehicle were injured and taken to the hospital. Now, there are reports that the van from Belize was transporting beauty contestants from San Pedro to Chetumal but without authority, they continued on to Playa del Carmen.  The travel was paid by the San Pedro Town Council and the contestants were accompanied by a councillor.
