Honduran national wanted in connection with fatal hit and run

Story PictureA Honduran national on the lam is wanted in the fatal hit and run accident on May 9th in Ladyville that claimed the life of thirty-eight year old Roldan Trapp. The suspect and owner of a red Ford pickup truck involved has eluded authorities since then and police have now identified him as thirty-nine year old Fermin Arriaga, a construction worker of Flowers Street in Belmopan. According to Ladyville police, checks were made at Arriaga’s home in the capital, but he was not located and the cops believe he is in hiding. Today, police released his picture at exit points countrywide. The incident occurred shortly before nine last Saturday night between miles eleven and twelve on the northern highway. Trapp, who was riding home from making a purchase at a nearby shop, was knocked off his bicycle from behind by a speeding vehicle. He died on the spot. The driver of the pickup did not stop to render assistance, but lost control minutes after and ran off the road some distance away from the scene. The pickup was later intercepted by police when a tow company was seen pulling it.
