New airline missed its deadline
Last month we brought you news of a new airline, whose executives swooped into Belize and told anyone who would listen about their big plans to run regular charter service from Miami and soon thereafter to become Belize’s designated national carrier. The first flight of Bel-Air International was set to arrive on June eighth. That’s tomorrow…and in case you were heading to the P.G.I.A. to meet the inaugural flight, you may want to save some gas. According to Bel-Air’s representative in Belize, Tom Greenwood, there have been a few glitches in the start-up operations. These allegedly centre around the relationship with Cayman Airways, whose Boeing 737’s will be leased for the flights. Greenwood says to look for news about the maiden voyage in two or three weeks.
