No Room for Politics in Municipal Fair

There’s a perception that the United Democratic Party focuses on the tenth, while the People’s United Party concentrates on independence. So was that political divide at play between the Belize City Council and central government over the bram?

“It is unfortunate that there might have been some indication that it was political. But like I have always said to the mayor and the deputy mayor, who sits on behalf of the council on the committee that kind of thing for me does not exist. I am about—and the mayor has assured me, the deputy mayor likewise has said that same—we are not about playing that kind of politics when it comes to the residents of the city. The elections are over; this is a time to work together and where it is that we have to politics, let’s save that for down the road and right now let’s be about serving the people.”
