Taiwan donates for new athletic track
Work on the installation of a modern synthetic track at the Marion Jones Sports Complex was supposed to begin last October, but like many commitments made in the heat of euphoria, the promise proved easier than the implementation. Our athletes may yet get to run on a decent surface, however, thanks to the generosity of the Government of Taiwan. That country’s ambassador, Charles Tsai, on Wednesday turned over a cheque for one hundred and fifty thousand Belize dollars to Prime Minister Said Musa. The funds will be used for improvement of the Belize City facility, particularly the track.
