Anthony ‘Boots’ Martinez: “I Don’t Care What Darrell Bradley Says”
Port Loyola area representative Anthony ‘Boots’ Martinez gave a fiery response to the media when he was pressed about the third piece of missing equipment which belongs to the City Council. Earlier in the month, an audit of the Works Department at the council revealed that three heavy duty equipment, a Caterpillar Bulldozer, an eighteen-foot flatbed trailer, and a John Deere tractor could not be accounted for in its inventory. The audit report pointed to Minister Martinez and a day after the news broke, the equipment was located. The flatbed trailer and the bulldozer were returned to the City Council, but the tractor remains missing and reports are that it is being repaired somewhere in the Cayo District. So when the media caught up with Martinez on Thursday, he was asked to respond to the comments made by former Mayor Darrell Bradley who said that the council did not receive the equipment even though many attempts were made.

“I don’t care what Darrell Bradley says. I don’t care you know. This hear-say, this say, listen to me carefully, I’m the Minister of Human Development. I have never work at city council; have nothing to do with city council. So I don’t care what he says. You need to question the officials at city council, not me at all. Was I an employee?”

“I was never a part of acquiring. I sat in a meeting but I was never a part of acquiring nothing.”

“Then the equipment ended up on the compound.”

“Let me put it this way here.”

“Man make I tell you something…they never used it!?”

“Man the green building is right there. Go and talk to the Mayor, talk to the people that work at city council. Talk to Joseph Lawrence. Talk to all of them. It’s up there they were housed.

And since you were instrumental in locating two of the pieces of equipment, the third still has not been located. They say it is somewhere in Unitedville but they can’t find it.
