109,589 Registration Applications Received, So Far

Four days are left until the mass re-registration exercise concludes on Friday, August thirty first. Latest figures show that as of August twenty-fifth, one hundred and nine thousand, five hundred and eighty-nine applications have been received by the Elections and Boundaries Department which is a little over fifty percent of the projected total. Between August nineteen and twenty-fifth, eight thousand, five hundred and seventy-five more applications were received by the department. This, again, demonstrates a decrease when compared to the figures from the previous week. The Department intended to re-register some two hundred thousand persons but with only four days remaining, that seems to be an impossible task. Anyone wanted to register after Friday, will need to visit the Elections and Boundaries Registration Offices.
