Vildo Westby, Wanted for Murder of Felix Ayuso, is Handed over to Belize Police

Police confirmed today that Vildo Westby, wanted in the murder of Felix Ayuso, has been deported to Belize from Mexico. Westby was detained in Veracruz, Mexico in December 2017 for the murder of Ayuso, an activist from the island town of San Pedro. Ayuso was found stabbed multiple times inside his San Juan sub-division house. Westby had been on the lam since February of 2017, following Ayuso’s murder. “On Saturday, the Mexican Interpol handed over to the Belizean authorities, Belize Interpol, Vildo Westby who was being sought by police for several months for the murder that happened in San Pedro.  He is presently in police custody and police are following a procedure for him to be charged later on today.”
