More students shine in Festival of Arts
Tonight’s newscast has focussed on Belize’s young people…and we’ll finish it on the same theme, with a review of last night’s performances in the Belize District Children’s Festival of Arts.
Ann-Marie Williams, Reporting
One of the eleven silver performances of the night was done by Biscayne Government School, a familiar folk song. (Biscayne choir sings “Da fu me an’ yu”)
All Saint’s Primary picked up a silver as a group of girls was “Strolling in the Park”, a choreographed dance by Dawn Adderley.
St. Martin De Porres’ rendition of Corinth Morter’s Tribute to the Belizean Flag also earned silver.
Arnick Rowland of Burrell Boom Methodist sang to a packed house. Celine Dion’s “That’s the way it is” was worthy of a silver.
One of only eight golds for the night went to Pancotto Primary. (Children on stage acting in play “Mom are you there”)
