3-day Concert Weekend Sees Ernestine and Beenie Man Gracing the Stage

Music lovers from across the country will converge on the Old Capital this carnival weekend for three nights of concert performances from Belizean and international artists.  It’s a ticket that is billed as the first of its kind for the September Celebrations, one which includes dancehall legend Beenie Man and soca mainstays Alison Hinds and Nailah Blackman.  Most importantly, it’s an opportunity for Belizean artists such as Ernestine, TR Shine, Marilyn Vansen and Supa G to share the same stage co-headlining with the Caribbean’s best talent.  The event is organized by Music Ambassador Shyne Barrow.

“I’m really overwhelmed with joy.  This is a dream come true for me to be able to have a three-day festival where Belizeans are co-headlining along with the top foreign acts.  You know, we have Marilyn Vansen, we have TY, we have Deja, we have Ernestine, we have Boss Lady, we have Bastic, we have TR Shine and we have the General Supa G, along with Beenie Man, Nailah Blackman, Alison Hinds and a plethora of other top foreign acts and, you know, September is special within itself and, you know, we always have these concerts but never before have we been able to do a concert that is centered on the Belizean artist and give them this type of showcase.”

“Well, it’s great because it’s Caribbean and it’s Caribbean music, whether it’s soca, dancehall or reggae, it’s Caribbean music.  So it’s always great.”

“Well, I feel very honored to be a part of this show.  I’m not really known to be a soca artist, but I was chosen to be a part of this show, so it’s like such a great honor and I feel so appreciative of it, it’s a great feeling.”
