B.W.S. promises improved water pressure
If you’ve had problems with your water pressure this week, it might make you feel better to know that you weren’t alone. Residents from several sections of the Northern Highway from Coral Groves to mile four have been complaining of a significant drop in water pressure, usually about the time they’re ready for a shower. Chief Operations Officer for the Belize Water Services, Richard Pope, says the completion of the company’s expansion programme should rectify that situation.

“This is because we are replacing a four inch pipe which is just over here on the Northern Highway with an eight-inch pipe, which runs where we’re standing. It’s very inconvenient for us all and I apologise for that, the service will improve once the eight-inch pipe is in place. I’ve called in an extra crew and extra resources and we’ll be finished Friday night. So on Saturday morning the pressure should be as it was before.”

“Any more improvements after that? Anything that people should expect?”
Richard Pope
“Yes, there’s ongoing improvements, putting in new mains, reinforcing existing mains, so that the water flows and is distributed much more effectively than before.”
