Michael Arnold Shot on York Street
A Belize City resident is the latest victim of gun violence. Twenty-five-year-old Michael Arnold was shot this morning sometime around ten-forty as he was riding his bike on York Street in Belize City. He received one injury to the buttocks and is now hospitalized at the K.H.M.H. in a stable condition. According to neighbors in the area, Arnold fled for cover after he was hit, which may have saved his life. They say they heard as many as five shots ring out. Police responded to the scene shortly after.
ASP Alejandro Cowo, O.C., C.I.B., Belize City

“Sir, police have any idea, I know it is preliminary, but do you have any idea what may have motivated this shooting?”
“Not at this moment.”

“There are reports that Mr. Arnold may have been the gunman in the incident involving Mr. Jing Wu who died earlier today. Can you say whether he was a suspect in that case?”
ASP Alejandro Cowo
“He was detained and he was interviewed but he had to be released because of no evidence.”
