Another gas station targeted by thieves

Gas stations continue to be a favourite target for thieves looking for a quick buck. Around 2:00 this morning a pair of armed masked men pulled up to the Texaco Star Mart at the northern entrance to Belize City. Joined by two accomplices waiting in the bushes, the gang overpowered and tied up the security guard and proceeded to break into the building. They left with an undisclosed amount of cash and goods. According to the guard, the robbers drove off in a black four-door sedan.

In related news, the man detained in Wednesday night’s jacking of the Shell station at mile two and a half on the Northern Highway, has been arrested. Eighteen-year-old Deon Orosco of West Collet Canal has been charged with robbery. His picture was allegedly captured on the station’s security camera as he made off with three hundred dollars.
