Police Search Special Constable’s Residence in PG
On Saturday, Punta Gorda police executed a search at the residence of special constable of police, Devin Trapp, a twenty-year-old resident of Orio Street in that southern municipality. The search led to the discovery of six police uniform pants, a south-side strike team and a Special Patrol Unit outfit. The news of the bust spread quickly but it seems it is much ado about nothing. Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Myvett explains why Trapp was in possession of the uniforms.
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
“During the investigative process, it was learnt that Mister Trapp was a member of the Police Youth Cadet Corp for a while before he became a special constable. So far, he has only been charged for assaulting a police officer. I do not know at this point in time whether other charges are forthcoming in relation to the uniforms.”

“But even if he was some sort of personnel, should he have had…I am told he had six [police] uniform pants, one SPU outfit and at least a south side strike team outfit as well.”
ACP Joseph Myvett
“Well the man is closely associated with the police department and has been working under several commanders in the south before.”
