Bar Brawl Leads to Shooting in Armenia Village
A fight between two men who were supposed to be friends led to a shooting incident in Armenia Village, Cayo. Twenty-nine-year-old Roni Diaz and fifty-nine-year-old Miguel Funez were at a bar in the village socializing on Wednesday when a verbal disagreement ensued. It got physical with Funez pulling out his nine-millimeter pistol and shooting Diaz on the rear. ACP Joseph Myvett says that both men have since been criminally charged.

“Initial police investigation revealed that Diaz along with one Miguel Funez was socializing in a bar in Armenia Village. Thereafter an altercation ensued with both persons which resulted in a fight which caused a cut wound to the left upper cheek of Miguel Funez and in the process he drew his license nine millimeter pistol and fired a shot towards Rony Diaz which caught him. Both persons have since been arrested and charged. Diaz has been charged for the crime of wounding and also for making off without payment whilst Funez has been charged for the crime of wounding. Both persons have been taken to court.”
