Armed Robberies at Corozal Businesses

Two businesses in Corozal were hit by robbers in just over twenty-four hours. The most recent occurred on Thursday night just before nine p.m. at Gao Tai Store at the corner of Seventh Avenue and Fifth Street South. Four men dressed in dark clothing entered the store and one of them held up the Chinese businessman, who handed over an undisclosed amount of money. One person has since been detained.  Another is also in custody pending further investigation on a robbery that occurred on Wednesday night at the Aqua Fina Purified Water on ‘G’ Street South, Corozal Town. Roy Reyes says that he was accosted by two persons outside the business. One of them who was armed with a sawed-off shotgun, rob him of an undisclosed amount of money.
