Murder in San Pedro; American Man Stabbed to Death in Hotel Room

There is a murder in San Pedro that police are investigating.  The body of a young man was retrieved from a hotel room on Barrier Reef Drive around midday today.  He is a U.S. national who resides in Caye Caulker and has been identified as Christopher Meighan. According to reports from the island, surveillance camera captured Meighan arriving at the Central Park Hotel just after nine on Thursday night.  He was accompanied by two men, one Hispanic and the other East Indian.  One of the men is known to live at the hotel. Meighan’s body was found by a hotel worker when she went to clean the room. He had been stabbed multiple times and there is one report that his neck also had deep cut wounds.   Police are looking for the two men who were seen entering the room with Meighan.  They are investigating all angles including that the murder may be drug related.
