Father and son charged for aggravated burglary
A father and son appeared in Magistrates’ Court today along with two other accused, and were promptly charged with Aggravated Burglary. Wayne Herrera senior and junior, Leon Yorke and Martin Ramirez all pleaded not guilty to the offence. While Wayne junior, Yorke and Ramirez were offered bail of four thousand dollars and had their case adjourned until June eleventh, Wayne senior is behind bars tonight. That’s because the older Herrera faces a long list of additional charges. He has to answer to two counts of Aggravated Assault and one count of Wounding in Magistrates Court as well as the Breach of a Protection Order in the Belize Family Court. Wayne Senior was denied bail and his case was also adjourned until June eleventh. The charges relate to an incident this past Saturday when the group of four, armed with knives, paid an unwanted visit to the home of Wayne Senior’s ex-common-law wife, Deborah Salgado’s. They are alleged to have stolen two thousand dollars from Salgado’s new common-law-husband, Anthony Middleton. The charge of Wounding against Wayne senior is because he reportedly injured Salgado with a knife.
