Park Avenue home robbed of thousand in goods

A lunchtime robbery at a Buttonwood Bay home has left one Belize City woman several thousand dollars short. According to Lavern Swift, on Thursday between 12:30 and 1:00 in the afternoon, a thief or thieves broke into her home on Park Avenue and stole her VCR, computer, and a collection of compact discs. Swift has estimated the heist netted thieves more than six thousands dollars. Police are still investigating how the robber or robbers gained access to the house and left unnoticed with the goods. At newstime tonight, police have yet to make any arrests, and anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the nearest police station.
