Who Shot Elroy Saldano on Haulze Street?

Prior to the shooting of Kevin Thomas, there was another act of gun violence over the extended weekend. Around one-thirty on Monday afternoon, in the vicinity of Belize Water Services Limited, forty-nine-year-old Elroy Saldano was fired upon by a lone gunman as he rode a bicycle in the direction of Central American Boulevard.  According to police, the assailant came up from behind Saldano and fired a single gunshot which caught him in the lower back.

“On October fifteenth, around 1:30 p.m., police received information that there was a male person at the K.H.M.H. suffering from gunshot wound.  As a result, police visited the hospital and there they encountered one Elroy Saldano, a forty-nine-year-old laborer of a Belize City address, an East Collet Canal address.  He was suffering from a single gunshot wound to the lower back area.  From what police understand is that Mr. Soldano was riding his bicycle on Haulze Street and whilst he was doing so, a male person approached him from behind and fired several shots, one of which caught him and caused the injury.  The matter is investigation and we have no wanted person of interest at this time. One person is wanted for questioning in this matter; I do not have his exact age.”

“Okay, now is there any, we have heard that there was some revenge issue with this, that may have been a motive in this crime.  Is that something that the police are following?”

“Yes.  No we do not know if it is a revenge act, however, we are trying to follow up certain leads that we do have in regards to this matter.”
