Nineteen-year-old Stephan Bowen is facing a charge of murder, following the death of Elroy ‘Scrub Board’ Saldano who was shot while riding a bicycle in the vicinity of Belize Water Services on October fifteenth. The forty-nine-year-old succumbed to a single gunshot injury to the back on Tuesday, while receiving treatment at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. In the wake of the shooting, Belize City police picked up Bowen who was subsequently indicted on counts of attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm and dangerous harm. It is expected that those charges will be upgraded to murder. Earlier today, News Five spoke off-camera with Lorna Theus who raised Saldano from childhood.
