Politician’s Brakes Hose Intentionally Cut; Political Sabotage?
The P.U.P.’s area representative for Stann Creek West, Rodwell Ferguson, says his life was in danger on Tuesday night when he lost control his vehicle as he headed home. He says the pressurized brake hose of his vehicle was cut while he was at an I.C.J. referendum forum in Independence Village. He left around nine o’clock and on his way home, he realized that his car brakes were not functioning. At that time, Ferguson had no idea that his brake hose had been cut, releasing the brakes fluid from his car. Ferguson told News Five that when he took his vehicle to the mechanic this morning he was told that someone had sabotaged his brake hose. Ferguson has informed the authorities and will make an official police report on Thursday. While Ferguson is sure that it was sabotage, he has no idea who is responsible. P.U.P. Leader, John Briceño, has expressed concerned over the incident.
John Briceño, P.U.P. Leader
“This morning he called the mechanic because he said that he just serviced his vehicle so there should not be any problem. When the mechanic inspected the vehicle, he saw that the brakes line was cut completely so that there was no brakes fluid in the vehicle. I think that is something dangerous. I hope it is not a political opponent that is doing that. Maybe just mischief or whatever it is because that is road that we do not want to go, that is a slippery road. I hope that the police would be able to carry out a thorough investigation and hopefully we can find the culprit, the person who went and cut that line.”

“Does Mr. Ferguson believe that it was political sabotage?”
John Briceño
“He did not tell me that but he probably suspect that it has to be…because he says he does not have any problems with any one so he can only come to the conclusion that it could be political sabotage.”
