Impounded Vehicle Goes Missing from OW Police
Police are investigating the mysterious disappearance of an impounded SUV from under the noses of the officers attached to the Orange Walk Police Station. According to ACP Joseph Myvett, last Tuesday night, a Range Rover SUV with Dangriga license plate carrying what appeared to be a questionable insurance sticker, was retrieved by a patrol on Sapodilla Street in that northern municipality. The vehicle was parked at a lot across from the police station. It appears that the owner showed up and removed the vehicle without the knowledge of on-duty officers. While police have since found out who the vehicle belongs to, that person cannot be located.
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
“Closer inspection of the vehicle revealed that the insurance sticker on the vehicle had a different license plate. The area was canvassed and no useful information was had. The driver was not found and as a result the police then got the vehicle towed to the Orange Walk Police Station where it was parked in a parking lot opposite the Orange Walk Police Station compound.” OUT 05:47
IN 06:05 there is an ongoing investigation. We know who the vehicle was registered to, at least the license plate that’s on the vehicle; that person has not yet been found by the police as well.”

“What’s the suspicion sir?”
ACP Joseph Myvett
“Well we do not know. That’s what we are trying to establish. But we know for certain that the vehicle was taken from the compound where it was parked. We do not if it is the owner or the person in whose name the vehicle was registered as neither himself or the vehicle has been found since.”
