Bank robber nabbed at border
In crime news, a bank robber who has been variously described as both foolish and daring now has a new description: busted. Mervin Reyes, identified as the man who robbed the Bank of Nova Scotia in Corozal on Wednesday, was spotted today as he attempted to cross the northern border. No, he wasn’t running off to Mexico; he was coming back. Belizean police, with co-operation from Mexican authorities and free zone security, apprehended Reyes as he crossed the bridge over the Rio Hondo. What they did not catch, however, was any of the eleven thousand dollars that he allegedly took from the bank. Reyes has been charged with robbery.
