A Seine Bight businessman, Daniel Vera, was granted bail after he was busted on board a Richie’s bus with a knapsack containing over four pounds of marijuana wrapped in three parcels. Vera was before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford to answer to a single charge of drug trafficking. He was arrested on Tuesday in the Bainsville area of Hattieville when he was heading south. The Jamaican national lawyered up with attorney Leeroy Banner and pleaded not guilty. Vera has been living in Belize for eight years and is to return to court on December twenty-eighth, 2018. Initially, he did not want to own up to the knapsack. But his photo was in the gallery of a phone found inside the bag. This afternoon, Vera met bail.
