Belize Bank Belmopan branch burgled
A daring break-in at a Belmopan bank early this morning has netted one thief only chump change. According to police, at approximately 4:00 a.m. a man threw something against one of the windows of the Belize Bank branch, breaking the glass. The man entered the building and walked right into the eye of the bank’s video cameras. Perhaps sensing he was on must see TV, the man neglected the vault and instead picked up a nearby tape recorder, valued at about four hundred dollars, and ducked out. Whoever he is, police expect to have him in custody shortly as he is clearly identifiable in the video. Viewers may recall that a little over a year ago some more seriously skilled bank robbers tunnelled into the Belize Bank branch in San Ignacio and exited with over a quarter million dollars.
