17-year-old Belize City Resident Charged for Unitedville Robbery
On Friday, we reported on a robbery at Yi Long store in Unitedville. Today, police say that they have arrested and charged a seventeen-year-old from Belize City for the crime. The minor was slapped with charges of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and attempted robbery of a customer. Police confirmed today that the teenager has been remanded to prison until January twenty-first, 2019.

“Sometime around one p.m., three armed male persons had entered the store in an attempt to rob those that were in the store. In the process, the proprietor of the store received one gunshot to his left foot and in the process he then fired upon the assailants during which time we believed one was injured. An undisclosed amount of money was taken during the robbery and sometime shortly after two p.m.; a seventeen-year-old minor arrived at the Western Regional Hospital with one gunshot injury to the back of his neck. He was admitted to the hospital under police guard and yesterday he was released and is now in police custody pending that investigation, as well as other investigations in the Belmopan area.”
