15-year-old Raped; 1 Person Detained

A fifteen-year-old girl reported to police that she was raped. Sometime after four-thirty on Saturday evening, the girl and her mother visited the Roaring Creek Police Station where the minor stated that she was at a house in Camalote village with her uncle and one of his friends.  The man reportedly raped the girl while she was resting in room. ACP Joseph Myvett says one person is detained pending investigation.

“While she was socializing at a residence in Camalote Village, she was not feeling well and went into one of the rooms to rest and in the process; she was approached by a male person, only known to her by a first name. He entered the room and forcefully had sex with her against her will. One person has since been detained pending investigation.”

“Are you able to give us more circumstances – we are told she was in the company of an uncle and another person – and it was the person who was with the uncle that went into the room with her?”

“Yes that is the case. He, too, was detained for questioning in relation to this investigation. The uncle has been released, but the other person remains in detention.”

“Is there anything the uncle could be charged with, perhaps for facilitating the crime?”

“While the investigation is still ongoing he was detained and interviewed and later release. The investigation is still ongoing so he can be re-detained.”
