Lloyd Augustine and Felix “Reckless” Flores are the lead singers for the popular Punta Rebels. But the duo have taken a short break from the band to promote their latest CD, “Steam”.
Lloyd Augustine
“Basically we just di try do wah lee thing pan we own. We just the try experience every little thing weh come in the field of music. So we just decide to do a solo project, me and Reckless, fi release it out. So we just have to take a lee timeout from Punta Rebels and do wi album. But we still the work with Punta Rebels, definitely.”
Felix “Reckless” Flores
“We have so many songs that people love and then nuff a the songs we came up with…we came up with so many songs and realise that the songs on this album, people love almost all of them because before we entered the studio we did a lot of shows with the band and realise that out of the fifteen songs, almost all of them people love.”
The artists say they have no intention of leaving Punta Rebels, even if there first solo release is well received by the public.
Felix “Reckless” Flores
“Even if we move on, definitely we’ll need a backup band, and every means and every way we move, we want Punta Rebels to be a part of it. For me, the reason why we did this single album, is because in Punta Rebels we had three lead singers, which is myself, Lloyd and Supa G. And on an album you need a certain amount of songs, and for me, I have so many songs, but on the album I only could put about five or four, the same with Lloyd. So songs just keep on piling up on us, so we decided that, hey we have so many songs, let’s do something with it.”
The CD “Steam” was produced by Love Entertainment. Jacqueline Woods Reporting for News 5.
“Steam” is available at the Record Shacks and Love FM. Price is twenty-five dollars.
