Mayor Belisle is Expected to Recover from Political Black Eye
So what does the prime minister’s intervention mean for Mayor Belisle who went on record at a press conference last Tuesday to state that central government or the U.D.P.’s political directorate has not meddled in the administration of City Hall?

“Is it regrettable for you that one of the young, rising stars of the U.D.P. is caught up in this particular controversy?”
Prime Minister Dean Barrow
“Of course, because I’ve been on record as saying that I think Khalid Belisle is the future of the United Democratic Party. But the course of politics, like the course of true love, never did run smooth. I am hoping that Khalid will be able to recover from the political fallout of what has gone on. In fact, I am certain that though it may have taken some time he will recover because he’s an extremely bright, savvy, energetic, well-meaning individual with a good heart and a good soul. So I am confident he will recover.”

“Have you had an opportunity to speak with him in respect of this matter?”
Prime Minister Dean Barrow
“I spoke to him right at the start. I have not been able to get him over the last two days. I had wished to talk to him in preparation for today’s meeting, but I was unsuccessful.”
