Committee of 40 has new name
Baron Bliss Day will be celebrated on Monday, but it’s never too early to begin planning for September celebrations. To that end, the venerable organisation known as the Committee of 40 has announced a name change. The former 40 will now be known as the St. George’s Caye Society. According to a release, the new name better reflects the group’s aim of preserving and enhancing the celebration of the anniversary of the 1798 Battle of St. George’s Caye every September tenth.
