Cayo man shot during armed hold-up attempt
A man from the Cayo District is tonight recovering after being shot early this morning. According to police reports, around 1:00 a.m., twenty-three year old Darwin Soberanis of San Juan Layout off the Bullet Tree Road, was walking home when two men jumped out of the bushes and came towards him demanding money. Soberanis says one of the men was armed with a small handgun and when he said he had no cash, shot him in the leg. Soberanis was able to escape and get medical attention. No one has been detained by police in connection with this incident.
