San Antonio opens classroom extension
In news from the Cayo District, late last week we were reminded that overcrowded classrooms are not just a city phenomena. On Friday afternoon, Prime Minister Said Musa officially inaugurated a new school building for The United Pentecostal School in San Antonio Village. As the students introduced the P.M. to their new classrooms, area representative Dan Silva urged their parents to invest in their children’s educational aspirations.
Daniel Silva, Area Rep., Cayo Central
“So people of San Antonio you have a great responsibility. Parents, you have to invest in your children. But those people who like to say well, education is expensive…try ignorance. Ignorance is a lot more expensive.”
The new school building was built by contractor Hubert Enriquez at a cost of over a hundred and twenty five thousand dollars. The project was financed through the Basic Needs Trust Fund and the Government of Belize.
