Teenager dies in weekend accident
A traffic accident on the Southern Highway has claimed the life of a teenager. According to police, twenty-two year old Bruce Martinez was driving his Honda Civic near the intersection at the Southern Highway and the Stann Creek Valley Road when he lost control of the vehicle and ended up in a ditch. Martinez and his two passengers, identified as seventeen year old Esther Vasquez of Santa Elena and twenty-five year old Greg Lino of Hopkins Village sustained serious injuries. All three were rushed to the Southern Regional Hospital, but unfortunately, the teenage girl was pronounced dead on arrival. Martinez and Lino have been admitted to ward and are listed as stable.
