G. Michael Reid, Police Press Officer
“About 5:30 this evening–from reports made–a lone person, dark skin male, tall, walked into the store of Dwayne Arnold and asked the worker in there if he was Dwayne. The worker apparently replied “No”, and he asked who was Dwayne. The guy called for Dwayne, he came out, the guy asked for a quarter, Dwayne reached into his pocket and the guy just shot him.”

“At this time no suspects; if he was on a bicycle, if he wore a mask?

“Well, police are searching and we’re asking anyone in the neighbourhood who saw anything to please come forward. As you know, in many of these instances, nobody saw anything, and this is sad. We believe that the community has got to understand what is going on and that’s it’s affecting us all. And that indeed, that’s it happening in broad-daylight, at some point we’re gonna have to stand up and take back our streets, take back our city.”
The assailant ran away down a nearby alley. Police are presently in pursuit.
