U.S. doctors to treat Iris victims in Toledo
This weekend, over forty medical staff from the United States will arrive in the country to deliver health care to Belizeans in the Toledo District. According to a release from the U.S. Embassy, the three doctors, seven nurses, dentist, eye doctor and other medical personnel, will be conducting a medical readiness training exercise in the south from February tenth to the twentieth. The team will be working in Pueblo Viejo, Santa Teresa and Big Falls because of the damage they sustained during Hurricane Iris. The exercise was organised by the United States Southern Command, the Belize Defence Force and the Ministry of Health.
