Lord’s Bank Resident Caught Stealing; Leopold Stevens is Remanded
Magistrate Emerson Banner also dealt with the case of seasoned criminal, forty-five-year-old Leopold Stevens of Lord’s Bank, Ladyville. Stevens was charged for a burglary committed on October thirtieth. He is accused of entering the BWS compound and stealing an assortment of items in the offices of Hugh Kennedy Crawford Construction Services. Stevens pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted him bail in the sum of five thousand dollars plus a surety of the same amount. But Stevens owed the court thirty dollars for a bike offense which he was unable to pay and so he was transported to the Belize Central Prison. His next court date is set for January twenty-eight, 2019. Construction supervisor, fifty-one-year-old Jesus Vega, caught Stevens with the stolen items and made the report to the Ladyville Police Station.
