A Guided Search for Anisha Young

As Christmas Day approaches, the family of Anisha Young grows more resolute in locating her. The young woman has been missing for almost two weeks now and there has been no contact or information from her. Young left a night club in a taxi with her boyfriend and disappeared in thin air. While it is presumed she is not alive, the family wants closure to this very sad episode. After enlisting the help of Jose Luis Espat, who has been resourceful in locating missing persons, Young’s status and whereabouts remain unknown. Their fervent hope is that this weekend, there will be progress when they head to Belize Rural. Here that update with Duane Moody.

A first guided search has been organized by the relatives and friends of Anisha Young, with the assistance of Jose Espat and the police department. Today, the family announced that on Sunday, after having acquired a permit to search a private property, they will resume searching for the twenty-three-year-old whio they believe was buried in a shallow grave. According to Espat, they have come across additional information that would suggest the motive and possible location of Annie’s body.

“It’s guided based on evidence and results that we have been doing—myself and the family. We got some serious evidence. We have footage; like I said before, we can’t give details of what this has yielded, but I can assure you that what the family and myself have is more than enough evidence to now narrow down from two motives to a single motive. That part is being dealt with by the police. What we are going on now is camera footages that we have and also one alleged witness that has come forward. We also have specific information as to where Anisha’s body allegedly is.”
Espat says that between twenty to twenty-five officers has been assigned to accompany the search team to the area, which we are reliably informed is somewhere in the Belize River Valley.
It’s been twelve days since Annie was last seen alive, leaving from Sit and Sip nightclub and heading home in a taxi to Nargusta Street in the company of her boyfriend. The family is seeking closure ahead of the Christmas holiday. Today, for the first time, however, Annie’s grandmother, with whom she was very close, spoke out about the tragedy.

“She never do that. If she noh contact me personally or ih main uncle; he’s the one that get the call ever since Sunday that she went missing. So for she leaving like that. And by the way, fu just putting out there, she as just renewing her passport, so she noh even have a valid passport. It’s been nerve-wrecking. I feel sick today. I am just standing here, but it is just the grace of God. Standing here with you Duane; it so hurt knowing that she is out there and nobody are giving us nothing—thanks to Mister Espat coming alongside us. And so that’s what we are going on, keeping hope alive.”

“Please we need the manpower, we need you guys to come out. We know it is a Sunday, two days before Christmas. Please we are begging everybody to come out. This is so hard for the family; we can’t eat, we can’t sleep. So we are begging the public to please come out.”
