Bz. City man convicted of carnal knowledge

In other court news, this afternoon, a thirty-three year old man was convicted of the carnal knowledge of an eight-year-old boy. Lee Henkis is spending his first night in jail after he was sentenced to seven years behind bars. A nine-member jury found Henkis guilty of unnatural crime of an eight-year-old boy. The incident took place on March seventeenth, 2001 in Belize City. In sentencing Henkis, trial judge Christopher Blackman said quote “You took advantage of his trust and poverty and when the occasion presented itself, you buggered him.” end quote. Henkis had maintained innocence throughout the case.
