4 Arraigned for Gun and Ammunition
Four men were busted on Cran Street, Belize City by the police on Wednesday. The foursome, who were found with a loaded firearm and thirteen live rounds of ammunitions; however, are in more trouble with the law and are presently being detained at the Queen Street Police Station pending investigations in the murder of Joseph Babb on New Year’s Day. The four are in their twenties and from Belize City. They have been identified as Lionel Longsworth, Harold Usher, Jeffery Buller and Dane Gillett. This morning, they were taken to court and arraigned for kept firearm and ammunition charges. The group appeared before Magistrate Emmerson Banner who rejected a plea by Longsworth to take the rap for the gun and ammo. The four were picked up by the police hiding behind a vehicle intercepted by the Gang Suppression Unit. The vehicle, belonging to Longsworth, was wanted in the murder of Babb. Along with the men, the Chevy was escorted to the Queen Street Police Station. This is when a rusty pistol and the live ammo were found in the compartment. The group will return to court in February.
